Khloe Thompson, who founded Khloe Kares at the age of 12, was presented with our 2024 Rockstar Youth Humanitarian Award for her amazing humanitarian efforts in serving homeless communities, empowering young women, and supporting underserved communities in Southern California & Ghana.
Khloe Kares is a 501c3 non-profit that spreads awareness and improves the lives of underserved homeless women and youth by providing the necessary tools needed to successfully transition from the streets into stable housing. Her philanthropic journey began when she was just 8 years old after witnessing homelessness in Southern California. The organization's primary initiative is the distribution of "Kare Bags," which contain essential items for those in need.
Kare Bags Contents:
- Toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotion)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Socks and underwear
- Each bag provides a two-to-three-month supply of necessities
By 2019, Khloe Kares had distributed over 5,000 Kare Bags to homeless individuals through partnerships with local companies, churches, and nonprofit organizations.
International Outreach
Khloe's humanitarian efforts extend beyond her local community:
- She visited Ghana with her grandmother to discuss their philanthropic journey.
- They installed working water pumps in towns with limited access to safe water.
- Khloe Kares now partners with African communities to expand and provide safe access to water.
